Até com nuvens... Even under clouds Até com nuvens os encontros se realizam. Quem visitar a página atalaia.org pensará que, nas últimas semanas, pouco se tem observado. Puro engano! A verdade é que problemas com o servidor desaconselharam introdução de informações, imagens e relatos. Na verdade os últimos encontros foram muito ricos e concorridos. E chegaram finalmente as esperadas G11 - nada menos de 5 - que foram objecto de testes e experiências por parte dos felizes compradores. Este fim de semana, tal como o anterior, teve sessão dupla. Na 6ª feira, a maior parte ficou-se pela marina de Cascais. Mas um pequeno grupo esteve na Atalaia fazendo as honras a um astrónomo amador brasileiro, membro do grupo Amadores POA, sub-grupo do grupo Urania. De passagem por Portugal e conhecedor desta página, entrou em contacto e acompanhou-nos no encontro de 6ª feira. A noite esteve razoável até um pouco após a meia noite, altura em que nublou para não mais abrir. No sábado, um grupo de cerca de 20 pessoas, reuniu sob um céu nublado, à espera de um milagre. Ao primeiro sinal de uma aberta, toda a gente desatou a montar os telescópios. Mal terminados, ou mesmo não terminados os alinhamentos, voltaram as nuvens. Houve tempo para conversa até que uma segunda aberta se aproximou. Todos aproveitaram essa dádiva, curta mas preciosa. Depois as nuvens vieram para ficar e, lá pelas 03:00 horas, desmontaram-se os equipamentos e houve uma curta paragem no sítio habitual. Even under a cloud cover, the meetings take place. The truth is that problems with the server made us think that it was wise not to place informations, images or reports. In reality, the last meetings were very rich and crowded. And, at last, the so long expected G 11 arrived - 5 at all - and were object of checks and experiences by the happy owners. This weekend, like in the previous one, there was a double meeting. Friday, most of the group choosed the marina, at Cascais. But a small group has been at Atalaia, honoured to receive an amateur brazilian astronomer, member of the Amateurs POA, sub-group of the Urania group. Passing by Portugal, and knowing about the group Atalaia through this page, he got in contact and made us company during the friday meeting. The night was reasonable until past midnight, time when the clouds arrived to stay. Saturday, a group of about 20 people, met under a cloudy sky, waiting for a miracle. At the first sight of a scattering everybody hurried to set up the telescopes. Finished, or even not finished the alignments, the clouds came up again. So there was time for chatting until a new clearing arrived. Everyone appreciated this gift, short but precious. Then the clouds came in to stay and, by 03:00, we gave up and departed for a short stop at the usual site. Alberto
