Colares de Perdizes
Desta vez fomos experimentar um local mais adiante cujo afastamento de Lisboa permite um céu mais escuro, apesar de serem mais 13 Km de distância lá estiveram astrónomos em grandes quantidades, se bem me lembro deviam estar até certo ponto entre 12 e 17 carros alguns com mais de uma pessoa e nenhum com menos de uma porque é impossível... :-). A noite esteve excelente com a Lua a nascer tarde... bem tarde, pois pouco depois de nascer já só poucos resistentes lá estavam apesar do temível frio que congelou os vidros dos carros e os telescópios. Durante a noite, como o horizonte é espectacularmente desobstruido devido á planura do local, fomos brindados com a visão do Omega Centauri a 3 graus de altitude e um pouco mais alto o Centaurus A, raras visões inesquecíveis para nós habitantes desta zona do globo. Mais uma noite memorável com céu escuro, bastante estável, e o convívio excelente que acompanha estas aventuras.

This time we tried a location a little bit further away from Lisboa wich offers darker skies. Even with an extra distance of 13 km, there were many astronomers present; at a certain point I counted between 12 and 17 cars, some with more than one occupant. The night was excellent with the moon rising late...late indeed, so that shortly after rising, just a few resistants remained in the terrible coldness that frozed the windows of the cars and the telescopes. The horizon is spectacularly free of obstacles; We got an observation of Omega Centauri just 3º above the horizon, and of Centaurus A, a little bit higher, sightings unforgettable for us who live in this area of the Globe. One more memorable night, in a dark sky, quite stable, with the excellent togetherness of these adventures.
