Boas Festas Happy Christmas Noite fria mas límpida, sem vento, e com alguma turbulência atmosférica. Presentes: Pedro Mota e Adília, Filipe Alves, Paulo B. Guedes, Joaquim e Ana, Ulisses, Alfonso, Alberto e, já bastante tarde, o Francisco Gomes que resolveu ir ver se lá estava alguém e deparou connosco. Tivemos dois visitantes que acompanharam o Paulo e o Ulisses?? Foi uma noite bastante proveitosa. O Filipe está a ficar um perito em imagens do céu; basta ver abaixo. Hoje havia a novidade de o Alfonso ter recebido finalmente o ArgoNavis. Equipado com o Obsession, preparações feitas, chegado o grande momento, foi mais uma desilusão. Não foi possível fazer funcionar o conjunto. Cada vez que se ligava o ArgoNavis, o equipamento ou desligava ou mudava sozinho entre funções. Como lá estava também o meu Obsession, experimentámos o ArgoNavis nele e tudo funcionou na perfeição. Pelo contrário, no do Alfonso, nunca funcionou. Mal se ligava um cabo, ou dos encoders, ou do ServoCat, dava de imediato um erro. Mas funcionou toda a noite no meu telescópio, sem o mínimo problema. M 42, M 43, Trapézio com 6 estrelas, Horsehead Nebula, com filtro H-beta, M46 com a nebulosa planetária NGC2438, M 79, Esquimo Nebula, Owl Nebula, M 81, M 82, NGC 4565, M 53, M 64, M 51, M 106, M65, M66, NGC 3628, M 95, M 96, M 105, para além da observação de planetas, com Saturno toda a noite e Júpiter um pouco mais tarde, são alguns dos objectos observados esta noite. Pelas 03:00, carros e telescópios estavam cobertos de gelo, mas, não fora véspera de consoada, ninguém arredava pé. Mais uma noite à moda da Atalaia. Alberto A cold but clear night, no wind and just a bit of turbulence. Attendances: Pedro Mota and Adília, Filipe Alves, Paulo B. Guedes, Joaquim and Ana, Ulisses, Alfonso, Alberto and, quite a bit later, Francisco Gomes, who remembered to give it a try, looking if anybody is around and found us on site. We had also two visitors giving company to Paulo and Ulisses?? It was a lucrative night. Filipe turns himself into a specialist in celestial photography; just have a look at the pictures below. Today\\\'s news are that Alfonso finally received the ArgoNavis. Equipped with the Obsession, all preparations done, came the long expected moment…and another disillusion. It was not possible to get the stuff running. Each time we switched the ArgoNavis on, the equipment or disconnected or swapped in between functions. As my Obsession was also around, we tried the ArgoNavis on it and everything work smoothly. But on Alfonso\\\'s scope nothing worked. Immediately after connecting a cable, or the encoders or the ServoCat, an error showed up. On the other hand, it worked flawlessly and without a problem on my telescope during the whole night. M 42, M 43, the Trapezium with 6 stars, Horsehead Nebula, using H-beta filter, M46 with its planetary nebula NGC2438, M 79, Eskimo Nebula, Owl Nebula, M 81, M 82, NGC 4565, M 53, M 64, M 51, M 106, M65, M66, NGC 3628, M 95, M 96, M 105, and views on the planets, Saturn the whole night and Jupiter rising a bit late, were some of the objects we viewed that night. Around 03:00 UT, cars and scopes were covered with ice, but, if it wouldn’t have been Christmas eve, no one would have gone home. Just another night as usual at Atalaia. Alberto
