Início de Setembro The first in September Normalmente, a Lua é inimiga de uma boa noite de observação. Desta vez foi a estrela da noite. Fomos 11 os presentes na Atalaia. Chegámos cedo, quase todos, para aproveitar o período de escuridão, antes do nascer da Lua. E o céu até esteve bastante bom, permitindo inclusivamente uma razoável imagem da Nebulosa do Véu e mesmo da Nebulosa Crescente, além de alguns enxames e estrelas duplas, com destaque para a Dupla dupla que foi facilmente e claramente resolvida, com estrelas absolutamente pontuais. Depois veio a Lua e parecia que a noite tinha acabado. Feliz engano! O ângulo de incidência da luz nas áreas próximas do terminador e a estabilidade atmosférica permitiram imagens de uma nitidez e riqueza de pormenor dificilmente igualáveis. Ficaram na memória 4 crateras dentro de Plato, as fendas de Burg (rimae burg) no Lago da morte (Lacus mortis), profundas e perfeitamente delineadas, as ondulações do solo no Mar da Serenidade, o terreno agreste da zona central e o verdadeiro mar de crateras a sul de Tycho, com destaque para Clavius. Foi um verdadeiro deleite a coroar mais um trânsito do TRES-2, da autoria do João Gregório. Alberto Normally, the Moon spoils a good night of observations. This time, it has been the star of the night. We have been 11 the attendants at Atalaia. We came up early, most of us, to take advantage of darkness, before moonrise. And the sky was quite good, permitting reasonable sightings of the Veil Nebula and even of the Crescent Nebula, along with some globular and open clusters and some double stars. I highlight the double double (epsilon Lyrae) which was easly separated with perfectly pointlike stars. Then the Moon rose and we thought thar the night was ended. Lucky mistake! The angle of incidence of the light near the terminator and the excellent atmospheric stability permitted views so clear and full of detail hard to repeat. In the memory remained 4 craterlets in Plato, the rimae Burg in Lacus mortis, the details of seabed in Mare Serenitatis, the roughness of the central area of the terminator, the true realm of craters south of Tycho, and much, much more. It has been a true pleasure topped with one more exoplanet TRES-2 transit by João Gregório. Alberto
