Banho de lua do Anselmo & companhia Night in the moonlight for Anselmo&company O Anselmo desafiou para uma noite ao luar. Pois lá fomos, os do costume, após o já tradicional jantar na Atalaia. Tivemos um excelente céu, límpido, com boa estabilidade atmosférica, mas com bastante humidade. As actividades principais da noite foram ligadas ao registo do trânsito do exoplaneta TrES-2 pelo J. Gregório - o Filipe, ainda à procura da afinição óptima do seu novo Astrograph f2.8, capturou mais algumas imagens e também registou o trânsito do TrES-2. Através do Obsession, com a binocular Denkmaier do Licínio, tivemos algumas espectaculares imagens da Lua. A sensação de profundidade que se ganha com a visão binocular dá outra dimensão às imagens; tem-se a noção do relevo, da fundura das crateras, da elevação das terras altas. Platão, o Vale Alpino, Copernico, Tycho, Clavius, só para referir alguns, ofereceram imagens de sonho. Saturno foi observado na companhia de 7 dos seus satélites - Mimas, Dione, Tétis, Rea, Encélado, Titã e Japeto. Na dúvida ficou Hiperion. Júpiter, apesar de muito próximo do horizonte, já ofereceu excelentes imagens. Alguns globulares completaram a observação com a binocular, com relevo para M13, o qual ganha outra dimensão. A humidade obrigou a encerrar as actividades pelas 04:00 horas. Alberto Anselmo challenged us for a night under the Moon. We accepted the challenge and there we went, after the already traditional dinner at Atalaia. We had an excellent sky, clear, stable, but with a lot of moisture. J. Gregório registered still another transit of the exoplanet TrES-2. Filipe, still looking for the optimum collimation of his new Astrograph f2.8, captured some images and also registered part of the transit of TrES-2. For a change, this time José Ribeiro did not capture any spectrum. All of us spent most of the night observing through the 15" Obsession equipped with a Denkmaier binocular brought by Licínio. The sensation of profoundness gives another dimension to the sightings; one clearly notices the relievo, the depth of the craters, the elevation of the highlands. Plato, Valis Alpes, Copernicus, Tycho, Clavius - just to reffer some of the features - offered fantastic sightings. Saturn was observed with 7 of its moons: - Mimas, Dione, Tethys, Rhea, Enceladus, Titan and Japetus. Jupiter, very low above the horizon, also offered very good sightings. Some globulars completed the observation through the binocular. Some planetaries, with and without an OIII filter completed the night. The extreme moisture forced us to stop by 04:00 AM. Alberto
